OVE’ 17 is officially over, yet to us it is only the beginning of our community serving journey. On a beautiful weekend, we brought some of the beneficiaries from Metta Home over to Singapore's awe-inspiring Gardens By The Bay (GBTB). Together with the beneficiaries, we took part in the creation of multi-colored lanterns of various designs, which would be showcased in the much-anticipated upcoming Mid-Autumn display at GBTB. Furthermore, we were delighted to bring the beneficiaries for a visit the special Orchid Extravaganza exhibition in lieu of the upcoming Singapore’s 52nd National Day.

Not only did stunning orchids in myriad shapes and colors filled the dome’s landscape, incredible glittering lantern art pieces were also lined up on the tables in the workshop. It was incredibly heart-warming to not only see the smiles of our beneficiaries but also to recall on how far we all have come. Despite the stigma that might be attached to our beneficiaries - individuals that possess differing intellectual capabilities from others, yet their bright smiles, open minds and all-embracing hearts have made us realize how these individuals are not "abnormal" or even "weird". These individuals possess so much love and joy and they are simply individuals that dare to be different.

Life is a circle, the end of one journey is just the beginning of the next.

With that, the team has officially come to an end in our OVE'17 journey. Yet, this is merely the start of a new beginning as the OVE legacy continues on!

Adios amigos OVE’17 and all the best OVE’18.
