They say spectacular achievements come from unspectacular preparation. On 2nd June 2017, to familiarize themselves with the activities that they will be doing in Cambodia as well as to identify any areas for improvement, the members of OVE’ 17 gathered at Aloha Changi for their training camp.
As dusk falls, under the leadership of the programmers, the members commenced the training. For the next 2 days, hours and hours had been spent honing their baking and cooking skills, perfecting their performance for cultural night, education lessons plan and the educational carnival flow. Their sacrifices were evinced in all their tired faces after the camp. It has been a long journey for OVE’ 17 since the start of AY 16/17 and to see everybody working together as a team to push on for this final lap. It was true joy, privilege and heart-warming.
Since being initiated into OVE’17, we all also experienced our very own precious journeys, amidst all the tough times when we had to balance between studies and our commitments, we held on tight to the reason on why we chose to join OVE in the first place. We not only grew individually but also as a team. This expedition will be something special, something we will all remember, something that we will never forget. I think we are ready. Prey Veng are you ready for us?
