This is undoubtedly a familiar scene: full grins on all our faces right after another fulfilling session with BrightHill Evergreen Home's precious elderly. The only difference would be our proudly donned OCEP shirt that has been to Vietnam and back with us - going through all the stages of OVE.

That Saturday, we created and decorated kaleidoscopes with our longtime senior friends. A sense of deja vu hung over us as we recalled how we did the same with the Vietnamese children just last week. Interestingly enough, both groups had the same uncertain yet curious hands despite the large age gap.

Next, we incorporated more elements from our recent trip by playing bingo with a twist: Vietnamese and local elements instead of numbers! It was nostalgic explaining the different dishes of the Vietnamese cuisine, their cultural attire, and iconic landmarks. Hands raced to mark Singapore's dishes as well, prizes showering all around the tables as BINGO!s popped up left and right.

Apart from this mini cultural exchange, we also performed our Cultural Night Performance for the seniors, after our usual karoake session, with even more giggles than before.

It was a bittersweet moment when we all gathered for a last group photo, many lingering around after, all hesitant to leave. However, who says that this will be the last time you see us? You might see some familiar faces in our next blog of AY 23/24.

See you again,

OVE Pubs'23
