This month, we collaborated with Hope Centre to distribute bread to lower-income households. Although each door-to-door interaction was brief, we had meaningful conversations with residents and gained valuable insight into their lifestyles!
One of our members reflected on how much time and effort it takes to consistently organise such meaningful initiatives. She shared, “I really admire how dedicated the organisers are to bringing cheer into the community.” Another member described this as a heartwarming volunteering experience, noting how he “really enjoyed chatting with some of the older residents”, especially since we were unaware of how many people live alone.
Ultimately, even a short conversation can go a long way, bringing smiles to the faces of both the residents and our volunteers! Looking forward to future volunteering sessions!
