To kickstart the long-awaited holidays, the OVE team made our way to the National Gallery Singapore with the incredible service users of Metta Home for our fourth outdoor session on the 18th of May. As usual, it was fun, a little chilly but most importantly, filled with love as we stood by them throughout their journey to the museum.
Visiting National Gallery with the service users was an interesting experience.
As we brought them around the gallery, they were fascinated by the intriguing
art pieces and exhibits. Really glad that they enjoyed their time there! - Xuan Ying
Home to the world’s largest public collection of South Asian inspired art, consisting of over 8,000 artworks, the OVE team felt that it would be a new experience for the service users and it indeed was! Just like the previous outings, we were incredibly humbled by the experience. It was truly heartwarming to witness the smiles plastered on all their faces as they made their way through the aisles of the museum - interacting with the large collection of local Asian-inspired artefacts displayed on every level. The more interactive artworks were a huge hit amongst the service users where they got to get more hands-on with the pieces.
It was an enjoyable day with the service users at National Gallery Singapore!
Although it was a short session, it was fulfilling to see them enjoying themselves and being
curious about their surroundings. Definitely a well spent session with them! - Xiao Wen
The trip to National Gallery was memorable as our service users were
able to appreciate the art at the museum! Seeing the excitement of their
faces really warm my heart! - Desmond
After all the walking, we took a seat by the steps and captured a group picture to signify yet another successful session with the lovely service users! Though it was short, we had a beautiful time with them. It is outings like these that make us believe that it's the small actions that make the biggest difference! We already can't wait for the next time till we get to see their faces again (-:
