Our day started with an art and craft session, where we did paper cutting picture collage. The elderlies were excited to create works of art, and it was heartwarming to see their eyes light up as they chose different shapes and colours to decorate their paper. We assisted them in cutting and glueing the pieces together while chatting with them along the way.

Following that, we proceeded to make bunnies out of repurposed washcloths. The elderlies were engrossed in this activity, putting their personal touches on each bunny and producing a charming array of shapes and colours.

"Last weekend, I had the privilege of volunteering with the elderly and it was an incredibly heartwarming experience. Despite their mobility limitations, they remained active and genuinely enjoyed the activities we had planned for them. Seeing their determination to make the most of each day was truly inspiring, and their smiles and laughter brought me great joy. It was truly gratifying to have the opportunity to bring a little bit of happiness into their lives, even if it was only for a few hours" - Edward, Business Manager

Lastly was a karaoke session, where we sang along to some of the most popular songs from their youth. The residents were thrilled to have a chance to sing and dance, and we laughed and cheered as they belted out their favourite tunes. The energy in the room was infectious, and it was clear that this activity brought a sense of camaraderie and connection to the group.

"This LCIP is actually quite interesting because it's the first time I've been to a nursing home with OVE! Even though the seniors faced challenges with the activities that my team have planned but I'm glad that everyone still enjoyed themselves, especially during the Karaoke session! In the future, we will definitely improve :)" - Yu Ling, Programmer

Overall, the day was filled with laughter, connection, and joy. As a team, we felt honoured to be a part of this activity and to make a difference in the elderly’s lives. It was humbling to see how the little things we did – creating cloth rabbits, singing karaoke, and paper cutting – could bring so much happiness to the residents.
