As a grand conclusion to our December holidays, OVE'23 embarked on a well-deserved 3D2N bonding trip.
Right after our December OM, we boarded the KTM (the first train ride for some of us!) to our beautiful homestay, where we immediately started exploring the pool table, mahjong set, and KTV.
The first day was relaxing, with some wandering outside to take a walk under the fluffy clouds while the rest of us played to our hearts' content.
Off to a great start, we made it even better by enjoying a sumptuous pizza dinner before heading off to rest! Dressed in our comfortable pajamas and wrapped in blankets, conversations carried on into the night.
I am fully immersed in this wholesome trip where I get to connect with everyone through the activities and meals. Shout out to everyone in OVE - this trip would not have been successful without any of you!

Day 2 started off with a bang! The main program was a bingo game, but with mini-games instead of numbers. Divided into teams, all of us laughed our heads off at the clumsy play and wacky games. We would like to apologize to the neighbors as we definitely made a bit too much noise!
Exhausted, many of us eagerly looked forward to a nice and warm home-cooked meal. Despite half of us having questionable cooking experience, everyone played a part in food preparation and definitely food tasting. It was very heart-warming to see how everyone was eager to help and willing to learn!
Our private chef Miguel singlehandedly pulled through and cooked most of the mouth-watering dishes, somehow creating plates full of different dishes from our simple ingredients and seasonings. They were devoured by our members before heading upstairs for an afternoon nap, and everyone knows the best naps are those with a full belly.
Day 2 was a day full of pleasant discoveries - playing group games together and seeing how raw meat and uncooked veggies turned into plates of delight. Really had so much fun seeing how everyone helped to cut & cook the dishes together as a team :)

The third day had a late start, as many of us were reluctant to wake up and leave this haven. However, there was much buzzing as we gave out appreciation cards to our friends and thought about what gifts to give our mortals! After wandering around City Square mall and the small shops nearby, we drifted back to the train station, gifts in hand.
After a whole day of shopping, the afternoon sun mercilessly shone straight into the girls' eyes, who were guarding the luggage. Our boys valiantly stepped up and blocked the rays, creating a rather humorous scene to look at!
The bonding trip was really enjoyable! It was a wonderful opportunity for us to mingle with all the members in OVE. Through taking part in the activities planned, I feel closer to not only programmers but also those in other subcomms.

With everyone safely back home, we can definitely say that this trip ended with many great bonds forged and strong friendships formed. Until next time!
