On 13 November, we embarked on our first LCIP volunteering session at Bukit Batok Community Centre for their Halloween event. It was a day filled with fun and laughter as we interacted with kids and elderlies who were all excited to experience the escape rooms and carnival games.

Everyone involved was excited as there was a wide range of activities ranging from MC-ing, carnival games, escape rooms, balloon folding and many more! We loved the energy from the crowd where all the kids were jumping and actively participating to answer the quizzes asked, in hope of receiving attractive gifts.

Our members learnt a lot from this volunteering session from planning, executing and engaging different communities. Scroll down to hear about their experiences!

Initially, I was kind of nervous because Jeffrey and I had no script. The audience was mostly children hence they were super active in participation which is good but at times it became slightly hard for us to control. However, as the show progressed me and Jeffrey got into the groove as we understood each other's style and interacted more with the audience as we played all sorts of games and yes we had loads of fun as it definitely made us feel young again. I was very touched when a parent came up to me after the event and thanked me for being a good host. If given the opportunity to host again, I would definitely do it!!! - Sakalesh

Volunteering with the Bukit Batok Community Club Youth Network was meaningful as I got to work alongside other youths and make new friends in the process. It was also fulfilling to play a part in facilitating the family games and to see the participants bond with each other over fun~ It was a Sunday well spent! - Everi

I enjoyed interacting with the participants at Bukit Batok CC, especially playing games at the booth alongside the kids. Thank you to Bukit Batok PA for organising this carnival it was an overall fun experience! - Aaron
